The best part of being a volunteer driver is being able to help the homebound elderly get to their medical appointments. Most do not have family close by or available to provide transportation to appointments. Regular visits to doctors are necessary for them tp maintain good health and allow them to continue to live independently. They are grateful for the rides I provide. We become good friends and look forward to our trips together, because we share our thoughts on a myriad of subjects. Most of my riders love to talk about the Red Sox!I took care of my mom for several years before she passed away. After that I decided that in memory of my mother I would volunteer to drive for seniors. I know my mom would be very happy o know that because of her I am helping other seniors.
